The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsunomanika Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken) Review

So I recently watched this 2023 romantic comedy anime so as usual I will now review it. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten first came out as a novel series in 2018, then a light novel in 2019, and manga in 2022 with 3 volumes out currently. In 2023, it became a 12-episode anime. While it's not an outstanding anime I still found it to be a rather enjoyable romantic comedy.

Summary

Mahiru Shiina is a divine beauty loved by all and excels in both academics and athletics. Amane Fujimiya lives next door and is in an entirely different world. Despite living close together, they haven't spoken once. But one day Fujimiya offers Shiina his umbrella during a rainstorm. Fujimiya catches a col the next day and Shiina returns the favor by caring for him back to health. Then Shiina cannot help but worry about Fujimiyra and begins to cook and clean for him. They spend more time together and their relationship progresses.

My Thoughts

I found The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten a enjoyable romantic comedy anime. As much is a like the two main characters, there are some pretty interesting and entertaining side characters, and each are pretty likeable in their own way. The progression of Fujimiya and Shiina's relationship makes for a great main plot and I always couldn't wait to see how they would take it to the next step. It definitely becomes clear they both reciprocate feelings for each other. While it's not an amazing romance anime it's still very enjoyable in it's own way.

My Conclusion

I would give The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten 4.5/5 stars or a 9/10 score. It's feel-good anime that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys romantic comedy especially if they're looking for something more relaxing. I'll probably be posting more about My Story soon or another anime review if I get to watching one.
