My Story: The Last Ones Known

So I'm now posting more from My Story. This would probably be the second movie and take an entire volume. This time we will focus more on Taro and Nina.

Opening

Taro and Nina have flashbacks about their childhoods. The two were childhood friends despite being an two different Obakes. They both realize that while they should be enemies they've become close friends and a couple, albeit a love-hate relationship. However they're 

Summary

Taro talks to Takeshi about his feelings towards Nina and how he is somewhat conflicted with his relationship with Nina but does want to become closer to her. Takeshi tells his younger brother that it is better to talk about his feelings and that if he and Nina make each other stronger and happy then it's for the best. Meanwhile Nina talks to Angel about her feelings and reflecting on how her relationship with Taro has changed. Nina confirms to Angel that she indeed loves Taro. Angel tells Nina she should pursue her relationship and spend more alone time with Taro. Angel also says that if two people are meant to be together then things will work out in the end and if not, it's for the better, a lesson taught to her by her parents. Taro gives Nina a locket charm necklace.

Konran and Koyki along with Hawkwing hatch a plan. Hawkwing knows he can lure Nina with being naive forcing the others to come and resuce her. The next day, Nina finds a owl chick and decides to help it. Little does she know it's a fake that Hawkwing has used to lure her into a trap. Hawkwing along with Konran and Kyoki come and snatch Nina, Sova tries to save her but isn't fast enough. Taro later finds the locket he gave Nina lying on a path. Takeshi and Taro immediately suspect Nina has been kidnapped. 

Meahwhile, Nina is interrogated about the whereabout of the others. Nina refuses knowing they are on their way to rescue her. Takeshi, Taro, and Nina are guided to where Nina is by Sova who has a way of tracking down Nina. They find where Nina is and a huge fight breaks out. Taro takes on Hawkwing while Takeshi and Angel take on Konran and Kyoki. Taro's demon blood takes hold of him and he goes into a rage to defeat the villains but also destroys the surrounding area. Nina grabs his hand and begs him to stop. Taro calms down and Nina then kisses him.

Ending

Taro and Nina's relationship has grown much stronger. Takeshi and Angel leave them to have time to themselves. Taro and Nina confess their newfound romantic feelings and realize that they are much happer and stronger together given the tragedies they've been through. Taro and Nina then kiss.

Overview

So that's the second movie and we see Taro and Nina become a much stronger couple together. More will await our heroes. 

My Story: Angel's Secret Bloodline

Here's more from My Story. Here we find out more about Angel's ancestry and learn about things she never knew. Now I forgot to post this in November so while I know it's cheating, this will count as both my November and December post.

Opening

Angel learns about a story in school when Obakes first came to prevalence. When she goes home to tell her parents, she learns that her Grandfather that it was unknown who his biological father was.

Summary

Angel's parents show her the albums of her grandparents and that's when she begins to discover new secrets about her grandfather. Angel figures this may explain why she is an Obake even though no one else in her family is. Then Angel finds a note from her great grandmother. In her message it is stated that during a visit in Japan  she had an affair with a Japanese Obake, admitting she felt guilty as she was already married. The rest of her family did not know this and she only confessed on her deathbed to her son. In the present day Angel shares her story with the gang. Takeshi asks Angel how much she has in common with her granddad. Angel says they have many things in common and Takeshi and Taro conclude. this might be how she is an Obake. Angel says no one else in her family is an Obake but Takeshi says that she still mostly resembles most people in her family and since no one knew who her Great Grandfather was explains why she's the only one in her family who is an Obake. Nina wonders more about her family tree and origins.

Ending

Angel talks to her parents about what she discovered. They say they didn't want to tell her until they felt she was old enough. They state that they regret hiding her Obake identity from her, should've let her be herself. Her parents tell her they will always love and accept her for who she is.

My Conclusion

So that will be my November post. I've been dealing with a lot lately so I haven't been able to concentrate on making these posts but will try to keep you all updated.

October Post

I've been pretty busy especially with Halloween. So Happy Halloween and unfortunately this will be my post for October.

My Story: Kyoki and Konran: Twin Nationalists

 Ok so it's been awhile and I will now post more to My Story. Here we get 2 more Obake's but they are not exactly heroes in this story.

Opening

In a flashback two Pheonix Birds are attacked and two of the young escape. They are revealed to be boy-girl twins, Kyoki and Konran.

Summary

While practicing his marksmanship skills, Taro sees an unusual bird flying through the air. Realizing it's a Pheonix, Taro realizes it could be another Obake. The next day, Taro reports to the others what he saw and Angel says she read articles about recent attacks that might have been from Obake's. Takeshi says he got news that a group of Obakes formed the Obake Nationalists who are a pro-obake group whose goal is to wipe humans from the earth. Takeshi tells everyone that they should never join them and that they are a villain as much as the Demons and anti-obake humans are. Later Taro encounters two old acquaintances, fraternal boy girl obake twins Kyoki and Konran. Unknown to the gang, Kyoki and Konran are part of the Obake Nationalists whose parents formed them. Later they convince Taro to go on another quest but he cannot bring the others with him. Taro reluctantly agrees then Taro encounters Hawkwing along with Kyoki and Konran. He finds out Hawkwing has now joined forces with the Obake Nationalists. Takeshi who finds Taro missing at home sets out with Angel and Nina and they encounter Taro in a standoff with Kyoki, Konran, and Hawkwing. Together they manage to fend them off.

Ending

Takeshi tells everyone they have a new enemy to worry about and now the gang must keep on their toes more. Hawkwing agrees with Kyoki and Konran to for now keep Takeshi, Taro, Angel, and Nina alive for now as they may want to recruit them to join the Obake Nationalists.

My Conclusion

So I've finally posted another chapter/episode from My Story and we have 2 more villains who are in a different group. I've been kind of busy but will try to keep posting.

Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me Review

So I recently watched Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me known as Keikenzumi na Kimi to, Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi or You Were Experienced I Was Not: Our Dating Story or KimiZero for short. Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me started as a 2020 light novel and later a 2022 manga. The 12-episode anime came out in 2023. I enjoyed this anime very much as I relate to the main character Ryuuto Kashima so much, only he did end up much luckier and more successful at his love life than I did. I would strongly recommend this anime for anyone who likes romantic comedies or is like me and lonely and single so they can fantisize about a similar scenario. I might reveal a little bit about the ending so...

Summary

A shy and reclusive Ryuuto Kashima, thought being with his very popular classmate Runa Shirakawa would only be a fantasy. After losing a bet with his friends and must confess to Runa. Instead of rejection, Runa agrees to go out with him. But dating Runa becomes overwhelming for Ryuuto who wants their relationship to remain a secret but to their closest friends. Though a series of mishaps, they work through their misunderstandings. Ryuuto reveals his insecurities from his past experiences, and he and Runa grow closer together. Additionally, Ryuuto's middle school crush, Maria Kurose, transfers to his class and rumors about Runa begin to spread around the school. Ryuuto takes desperate measures to protect her.

My Thoughts

I really liked this anime and well. The anime I compare this to the most is Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu (Haruka Nogizaka's Secret) as both involve a romance between the most popular girl in school and a self reserved boy (I don't know how anyone hasn't seen those similarities). I really love that it's a romance between a shy boy and a popular girl which really makes shy guys like me feel better. Ryuuto and Runa's relationship and the way it progresses is what really stands out well. What I appreciate about Ryuuto is that, he always does the right thing (even when given the opportunity to do something innapropriate) and when things go wrong he always tries to make it right. He gains more confidence as the story goes on. Runa's best quality is that she doesn't seem to care if Ryuuto is not the popular 'prince' most girls dream of but loves and accepts him for who he is. Additionally, as the top girl in the school she does not seem to have much of an ego and cares mostly about making and maintaining friendships and relationships regardless of social status and helping others. The other characters aren't quite as memorable but they still add to the story. I did like the ending as we know that Ryuuto and Runa continue their relationship and are still going strong. However, I was kind of left wanting something more, like one of those endings that really gives you all the 'feelings'. But with the light novel and manga ongoing I really want and hope that this isn't the last of the anime we will see. I'd love to see Ryuuto and Runa take their relationship to the 'next level'.  I admit it's kind of because Ryuuto looks like me and is also a shy guy too and Runa is such a beautiful girl who reminds me of a someone who I'd love to be with.

My Conclusion

I would give Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me 5/5 stars or a 10/10 score. Now let me explain this is a borderline 5 star anime, I did feel like I wanted something more and I really hope we can see more of this anime in the future. And while I did like this ending, hopefully we can see a stronger ending the next time (like an "tying the knot" in some way).
