Anime Heroes Tournament Quarterfinals

First, HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY! As you may know I started a tournament on anime heroes in my last post. The way they will be set up is a bracket system like we have in most sports playoffs and I have included the characters from My Story in here as well because I think they are so badass they could definitely take on the other heroes. I would feel bad if I had to pit brothers Takeshi and Taro against each other. This is a list for HEROES, I will probably make another tournament for heroines in the future! Anyway half our heroes have been eliminated so we're down to the quarterfinals! Sorry if your favorite characters didn't make it. Below is the bracket I've worked out! Sorry if the words are small and blurry!

Characters
Rin Okumura
The son of Satan, demonic being who can produce blue fire, how much more badass can you get? From his demon slaying power to his pyrokinesis, Rin is one hell of a hero. We get to see his true abilities throughout the series and how powerful he is. I mean he's Satan's son!

VS

Taro Hachuu
While not as large with an at 5'7" (170 cm) and 150 lbs (68 kg) as a full-grown adult, Taro is not one to be underestimated either. From his super skills with knives and other weapons and martial arts, to his reptilian powers and strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, durability, and ability to take hits and fight even when injured, as well as taking on opponents well larger than him, Taro is truly one badass. He could possibly give his older brother, Takeshi, and Rin a run for their money.

Yusuke Urameshi
Our other contender Yusuke is no pushover, fighting demons is his specialty and we see how truly badass he is in Yu Yu Hakusho. From the beginning, Yusuke has been itching for a fight. Although, only able to use it once a day, his spirit gun can easily take out an enemy with a single shot. As it turns out, Yusuke is a descendant of demon king, Raizen too.

VS

Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke is truly a strong contender in the competition as a highly skilled ninja, he specializes in fire and lightning jitsu. A reincarnation of Indra Otsutsuki, Sasuke rivals Naruto in skills, fighting abilities, and just being plain badass. He is a ruthless fighter, protective of Sarada and does whatever it takes to improve his skills.

Son Goku
With his giant muscles and Super Saiyan powers, and his influence on anime, Goku is without a doubt a worthy combatant. He is without a doubt one of the most well-known characters in this tournament. From super strength to his Saiyan abilities Goku could have an edge in this competition.

VS

Natsu Dragneel
A dragon slayer and hero by heart, Natsu is another popular character to make this list. His fire dragon slayer magic, dragon modes, strength, speed, and durability make him a one badass of a hero. Natsu never backs out of a fight and his pure wit, powers, and brute strength combined can assure he'll likely defeat almost any enemy.

Inuyasha
A half-demon half-human hybrid dog-yokai who weilds a supernatural sword known as the tessaiga. What more is there? His fighting abilities, strength, reflexes, and demonic powers earn him a spot in this tournament. Not to mention he refuses to back down. While he is initially motivated to become a full demon, Inuyasha had a change of heart and become protective of those he loves.

VS

Takeshi Hachuu
While not the biggest or strongest of our heroes at 5'8" (172 cm) and 160 lbs (73 kg) as a full-grown adult, Takeshi truly makes up for it with speed, agility, skills, powers, and intelligence. While he does not wish to harm others, Takeshi is willing to protect those he loves even if it costs him his life. His reptilian powers, combined with his strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, durability, weapons, and martial arts skills more than give him a spot in this contest. He is pretty much a combination of Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games Saga) and Robin (Original Teen Titans).

Overview
If you have someone who you think should be an honorable mention, please comment! Also, please check out the first round. Check back in a few weeks to see the results. Also, I will probably be doing more tournaments with different character types (Heroines, Villains, Love Interests, Tsunderes) in the future and I hope to start posting more to My Story as well!

Anime Heroes Tournament

So now that I'm pretty much done with my watchlist I have decided to have anime character tournaments just to keep these posts going. The way they will be set up is a bracket system like we have in most sports playoffs. Yes I have included the characters from My Story in here as well because I think they are so badass they could definitely take on the other heroes. On the other hand I'd feel bad if I had to pit brothers Takeshi and Taro against each other. I haven't really been able to include every anime hero in here in order to make the bracket fit so I had to weed them out. I will list some honorable mentions. Oh yeah, this is a list for HEROES, I will probably make another tournament for heroines in the future! So below is the bracket I've worked out! Sorry if the words are small and blurry!

Characters
Rin Okumura (Ao no Exorcist/Blue Exorcist)
The son of Satan, demonic being who can produce blue fire, how much more badass can you get? From his demon slaying power to his pyrokinesis, Rin is one hell of a hero. We get to see his true abilities throughout the series and how powerful he is. I mean he's Satan's son!

Rin Okumura

VS

Rokuro Enmadou (Twin Star Exorcists/Sousei no Onmyouji)
What do you know? Another exorcist anime! Rokuro might look small but is not one to stand down either. His impurity arm, strength, durability, and different forms make him the hero he is. While he doesn't want to fight initially, Rokuro is willing to risk his life for others and do whatever it takes.

Rokuro Enmadou

Hak Son (Yona of the Dawn/Akatsuki no Yona)
Standing at 6'2" (188 cm) and 180 lbs (82 kg), Hak is quite an imposing figure. With his martial arts, marksmanship, swordsmanship, and endurance it's no wonder his nickname is "thunder beast." He is loyal and protective of those he loves and cares for.

Hak

VS

Taro Hachuu (My Story)
While not as large with an at 5'7" (170 cm) and 150 lbs (68 kg) as a full-grown adult, Taro is not one to be underestimated either. From his super skills with knives and other weapons and martial arts, to his reptilian powers and strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, durability, and ability to take hits and fight even when injured, as well as taking on opponents well larger than him, Taro is truly one badass. He could possibly give his older brother, Takeshi, and Hak a run for their money.

Taro Hachuu

Recca Hanabishi (Flame of Recca/Rekka no Honoo)
With his flame powers to his fighting skills Recca is one to be reckoned with. Not to mention he is the son of Oka, the leader of the Hokage, a 400 year old ninja clan. Throughout the series we see his true fighting ability and the lengths he'll go for others. We also find out where he originates from and that his flame powers are derived from the eight flame dragons.

Recca Hanabishi

VS

Yuusuke Urameshi (Yu Yu Hakusho)
Our other contender Yusuke is no pushover, fighting demons is his specialty and we see how truly badass he is in Yu Yu Hakusho. From the beginning, Yusuke has been itching for a fight. Although, only able to use it once a day, his spirit gun can easily take out an enemy with a single shot. As it turns out, Yusuke is a descendant of demon king, Raizen too.

Yuusuke Urameshi

Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)
Sasuke is truly a strong contender in the competition as a highly skilled ninja, he specializes in fire and lightning jitsu. A reincarnation of Indra Otsutsuki, Sasuke rivals Naruto in skills, fighting abilities, and just being plain badass. He is a ruthless fighter, protective of Sarada and does whatever it takes to improve his skills.

Sasuke Uchiha

VS

Prince Ashitaka (Princess Mononoke)
Second only to Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke is definitely one of my favorite Studio Ghibli and anime movies in general. The princes of Emishi, Ashitaka, is a warrior from the start. While he intends to keep the peace, Ashitaka does not hesitate to fight when it comes to protecting others. He  fights like a demon and never lets anything get in his way or stop him.

Prince Ashitaka

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo)
From his 24-Karat gold hair to his giant muscles, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is one heck of a hero. Unusually, he uses his nose hair to fight using the Hanage Shinken. It's uncertain if he's even human but is truly impressive.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

VS

Son Goku (Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super)
With his giant muscles and Super Saiyan powers, and his influence on anime, Goku is without a doubt a worthy combatant. He is without a doubt one of the most well-known characters in this tournament. From super strength to his Saiyan abilities Goku could have an edge in this competition.

Son Goku

Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
A dragon slayer and hero by heart, Natsu is another popular character to make this list. His fire dragon slayer magic, dragon modes, strength, speed, and durability make him a one badass of a hero. Natsu never backs out of a fight and his pure wit, powers, and brute strength combined can assure he'll likely defeat almost any enemy.

Natsu Dragneel

VS

Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
The founder and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of its top fighters, Natsu is no pushover in this contest either. His strength, endurance, and fighting skills truly make him a hero to behold. Not to mention he ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi (Devil's Fruit) which give his body the ability to stretch like rubber aiding his fighting ability. No wonder he's the leader.

Monkey D. Luffy

Inuyasha (Inuyasha)
A half-demon half-human hybrid dog-yokai who weilds a supernatural sword known as the tessaiga. What more is there? His fighting abilities, strength, reflexes, and demonic powers earn him a spot in this tournament. Not to mention he refuses to back down. While he is initially motivated to become a full demon, Inuyasha had a change of heart and become protective of those he loves.

Inuyasha

VS

Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
From the village of Konohagakure's Uzumaki clan, is the ninja Naruto. His ninjutsu, senjutsu transformation, and powers place him on our list. Motivated to rise to the top, Naruto has trained throughout his life. Naruto can take on pretty much anyone at this point.

Naruto Uzumaki

Takeshi Hachuu (My Story)

Takeshi Hachuu

VS

Kenshin Himura (Rurou Kenshin/Samurai X)
The legendary hitokiri of the Meiji Revolution, Kenshin vows to keep Japan's peace. His swordsmanship, training, and skills make him one of the most powerful warriors in the series and gave him a spot in the contest. Inheriting the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu at the age of 14 allowed him to become an elite assassin for the government. Kenshin does not hesitate to protect others around him and even put himself in danger.

Kenshin Himura

Honorable Mentions
As I mentioned I had to weed out the heroes in order to make the bracket fit so here's some honorable mentions that didn't quite make the cut. I usually try to just do one character from each anime with the exception of My Story and Naruto because I think the characters are close enough in fighting and badassness to all be in here.

Toshizou Hijikata (Hakuouki)
Second-in-command for the shinsengumi he does the work to keep them in check. His swordsmanship along with his protective disciplined personality put him as an honorable mention.

Toshizou Hijikata

Vegeta (Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super)
Like Goku, Vegeta is also a muscular Saiyan with immense powers. While he is initially a ruthless cold-blooded warrior, he decides to fight alongside Goku.

Vegeta

Gohan (Dragon Ball Z/GT/Super)
For one thing, he's the son of Goku. So basically, he has very similar, pretty much the same powers so not much more to explain. Unlike Goku, Gohan lacks a passion for fighting, but does so to defend his loved ones.

Gohan

Yuuji Sakai (Shakugan no Shana)
A Mystes with Treasure Tool Midnight Lost Child inside of him. He merges with the Crimson God, Snake of the Festival and aims to end the conflict between the Flame Haze and Crimson Denziens. His powers and abilities make Yuuji an honorable mention on this list.

Yuuji Sakai

Yakumo Fujii (3x3 Eyes)
With his soul merged with his companion, Pai's, transforming him into a Wu, Yakumo is immortal as long as Pai is alive. While he can still feel pain, we won't die and will regenerate no matter how bad his injuries are. His fighting skills and immortality make him an honorable mention.

Yakumo Fujii

Syaoran (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle)
Being strong in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, Syaoran makes this list for his heroism in Tsubasa Chronicle. He is protective of Sakura and will go to the ends of the earth for her.

Syaoran

Sesshoumaru (Inuyasha)
I'm not sure if I'd consider a hero but he's done some good deeds. He kind of starts off as an anti-hero with a hatred for humans but does become kinder while caring for Rin. Unlike his half-brother Inuyasha, Sesshomaru is powerful full-blooded dog-demon.

Sesshomaru

Kazuma Kuwabara (Yu Yu Hakusho)
While not as tough as Yuusuke, Kuwabara is never one to back down either even when injured. With his strength, endurance, spiritual powers, and swordsmanship, Kuwabara is a worthy combatant on Yuusuke's side.

Kazuma Kuwabara

Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho)
While he stands only 4'10" (147 cm) tall Hiei more than makes up for it with his powers, fighting abilities, elemental resistance, strength, speed, durability, and the fact that he is a fire demon. He is a ruthless fighter but follows an honor code as well with his teammates.

Hiei

Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho)
A fox demon fused with a human body, Kurama is yet another badass from Yu Yu Hakusho. His fighting style, plant manipulation, intelligence, and tactics. make him an honorable mention.

Kurama

Yukio Okumura (Ao no Exorcist/Blue Exorcist)
As Rin's twin brother, Yukio was the youngest person to pass an exorcist qualification exam. While not as fierce as Rin, his familiar spirit, marksmanship, and exorcist skills make him a worthy opponent.

Yukio Okumura

Shirou Emiya
The main hero in the Fate/stay night series, Shirou is powerful with his magecraft and intelligence. Shirou will risk injury to help others in need and is dedicated to accomplish something.

Overview
So keep that's just the beginning if you have a vote, or if you have someone who you think should be an honorable mention, please comment! And check back in a few weeks to see the results. Also, I will probably be doing more tournaments with different character types (Heroines, Villains, Love Interests, Tsunderes) in the future and I hope to start posting more to My Story as well!
